In partnership with Marie Curie, members of the Lions Club hold collection each March to help provide free local nursing care to terminally ill patients in their own homes and Marie Curie hospices.
Each year Lions Clubs of the British Isles collectively raised in excess of £150,000 by collection through the Great Daffodil Appeal.
This means the Daffodil collection will help fund over 7000 hours of hands-on nursing care within our area. We are proud to be at the heart of the community, and our partnership with Marie Curie demonstrates how Lions Clubs offer vital support for local people”.
The Great Daffodil Appeal has huge public support and has raised more than £70 million since 1986. Marie Curie Cancer Care chose Lions Clubs British Isles & Ireland to be its first official partner for the Great Daffodil Appeal last year to help raise an additional £1 million.
